The Back Story

Sally Cohen's professional singing and songwriting career began in high school, and culminated in the 1982 release of Backseat Sally's debut album on Atlantic Records, along with the rock band's MTV video.

She went on to earn her Equity card in 1988 as a professional actress during Downstairs Cabaret Theater's long-running production of Nunsense.

R News hired Sally in 1991 to be the 24-hour cable news station's first and only entertainment/arts reporter. During the next thirteen years, she wrote and produced thousands of stories and segments featuring local, national and world-famous artists and entertainers. Her award-winning work has aired nationally on CNN.

Throughout her professional life, Sally has been and continues to be involved in commercial media – as a model, as both vocal and voice talent, in music writing and production, and as on-camera talent.

In June of 2005, Sally started her own PR consulting company that specializes in promoting artists, arts organization and arts-related businesses.  Since then, she has enjoyed a busy, successful and fulfilling fifth career!
